FEAR has to be the most over used excuse of all time. I’m not talking about eminent danger fear; I’m talking about the fear we experience most in our daily lives. The fear that when faced… vanishes into thin air and then shows up the next day wearing a different mask. Conquering this elusive beast is not easy, but the odds may be stacked in our favor.
Consider this verse from the Bible. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Tim 1:7) Fear is a spirit and we have been given three tools to battle against it. We have been given power and dominion over the earthly realm (Gen 1:26). We have been given love in its perfect form (John 3:16). We have been given a sound mind to reason (Isaiah 1:18). The spirit of fear cannot co-exist with any of these spiritual states.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear;
2 Timothy 1:7
but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
I believe we are spiritual beings having a physical experience, not the other way around. Walk in the spirit of power, love, and a sound mind, and leave fear in the dust. 🙂
