Blessings

Treating each other with kindness is a win-win transaction. When we are mindful, loving, compassionate and courteous; when we use our words to uplift and encourage. We not only give a blessing…we receive one too. 😉

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: [9] Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

1 Peter 3:8-9 KJV

Doing Well

We all face problems from within, due to our own poor decisions. We also face problems from without, the bad intentions of others. Be careful to not mistake one for the other. It is easy to see ourselves as helpless victims. When in reality, we have the freedom and responsibility to silence ignorance with well doing.

For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: [16] As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.

1 Peter 2:15-16 KJV

Temporary

It is easy to understand that some things are temporary. It is not so easy to understand that life as we know it…is one of those things.

For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: [25] But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

1 Peter 1:24-25 KJV

Clear Conscience

When you realize other people have the same issues you have…it’s much easier to forgive and pray for others. 🙏

If you have wronged someone, go quickly and “make it right”. Ask God for forgiveness. Learn from the mistake and move on. Life is better with a clear conscience.

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

James 5:16 KJV

Humility

I read a book a few days ago called The Ideal Team Player. It had one of the best definitions for humility ever. “Humility is not thinking less of yourself…it is thinking of yourself less.”

Humility is a heart matter that cannot be taught but it can be learned. People are drawn to real humility because it creates harmony and peace. Settle in your heart to have a spirit of humility. Think of yourself less and leave the results up to God. 🙂

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

James 4:10 KJV

Words

God has given us great power. Not comic book super hero power, but the power to think, to choose and to create. We have the power to save lives and to ruin them. We have the power to build cities and to destroy them.

Once a thought is conceived, it is brought to life with words. Humbly use your creative power for good.

For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

James 3:2 KJV

Respect

Why do we treat people differently. Is it because of the clothes they are wearing? Are they well known or famous? Are they powerful or rich? Remember that Jesus died for the famous, the rich, the powerful, the poor, the unknown and the weak.

We can respect and honor the office of authority. But the person that holds the office should receive no special treatment.

But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

James 2:9 KJV

Accountability

99.9% of the time your actions and your decisions determine your outcomes. Humility and personal accountability are keys to a successful and happy life. Think of yourself less and accept that your problems are your fault.

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: [14] But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

James 1:13-14 KJV

Conversation

Be wise and intentional about your direction. Start every day with gratitude for the blessings in your life. This will help you withstand the flood of advertising and social media that pulls us to desire things we neither need or want.

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Hebrews 13:5 KJV

Be Coachable

Embrace correction and learn to grow from it. Choose humility and steer clear of arrogance and pride. For practical purposes… Be Coachable. 🙂

Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

Hebrews 12:11 KJV
